What are your favorite cryptocurrencies / Which do you recommend investing in and why?

I’ve been interested in cryptocurrencies for a little while now and I have just recently started investing in ETH & BCH.

But out of curiosity, I would like to know what other cryptocurrencies people are investing in, and why they chose that crypto.

I am making this post to expand I guess you could say my knowledge of all the different cryptocurrencies, and which cryptos people think are going to be very successful in the next few months coming.

Sorry if this post is a bit nooby, just trying to learn about all the cryptos ^ ^

I have a bit of Cosmos as a “safer” bet figuring the “internet of blockchain” is an interesting idea and could be huge.

The rest of my portfolio is in Smartlands, which is a risky choice but with low supply (7 million total) it has a huge price potential if it gets big. Basically this one is a moonshot that’ll get me rich if I get extremely lucky.

XMR, NANO, ETH, MKR, LINK * Monero because it does privacy perfectly and is just what BTC should have been. * Nano because it does instant and scalable payments with 0 fees perfectly. * Ethereum because it is unmatched on all aspects in the smart contract world * Maker because it is just a killer dapp * Chainlink because it is so needed, it can do so much and it is very simple but efficient * Maybe TRX/EOS/XTZ for niche smart contract platforms with staking, etc * I don’t believe in IOTA anymore, and I don’t see why it is… Read more »

Nano. Reasons:
-No marketing. (where is Bitcoin’s marketing department? it’s all word of mouth. Truly decentralized.)
-Possibility for international remittances.
-Spam resistant.
-Feeless.
-Circulating supply = maximum supply.
-Stronger hardware = stronger scalability. If I understand the protocol correctly, then 5G will also be a big player with Nano.

Xrp. I’ll get downvoted because many hate it for its ties to a big company which people think is anti crypto but companies are important in markets to me and driving adoption. The specific properties of the protocol are fast cheap and scalable which should be essential for any crypto trying to improve stuff. They have a huge market to aim for and already have many more customers than well any other crypto projects. They are engaged with central banks and regulators the world over, plus the imf and bank of international settlement. If you want potential for big gains… Read more »

BTC and ETH should be in every portfolio, at the very least either one but preferably both. Other than those two looking at VET and IOTA for the next big plays, VET has manged to crate a very rich ecosystem with a lot of partnerships the biggest being walmart and yeah while partnerships are made fun of in the crypto space for a supply-chain logistics based crypto its essential. They have even started VeVote which aims to make the system more decentralized. Fundamentally VET is a very sound project.. IOTA too has many partnerships and again if IOTA wants to… Read more »

ZRX because the team doesn’t hype anything and is just building . I find it awesome to trade anything digital, anywhere, with anyone… without the need of a middle man.

For example, i am a big fan of Magic the gathering, but the fact, that i basically dont own any of the cards online, i am just throwing away money.

With future games i will be able to own , sell and trade the cards i get.

Here is a good talk for you from Andreas: what’s the next Bitcoin:

Edit: **actually this link is for most of you who answered with some obscure altcoins**

The main thing I would do is warn you against Nano. It’s down 97% and has virtually no users and no real world interest but it has a ton of people on here who push it extremely hard which should make anyone suspicious of either herding or worse paid shills.

I would suggest you to not listen to anyone on this subreddit. Find your own truth and invest in what you believe in. Many scammers around here that wan´t you to buy their bags

my approach has always been, what so I actually want to use, either now or someday? For me, that’s BCH (what bitcoin could have been) and XMR. I don’t have an interest in much else. I want something private, fast, relatively cheap to use (low fees), scalable, and a secure backend (high network hash rate), and capped supply, no premine.

Only in crypto would people be recommending people to buy assets based on “tech” rather than performance in the markets.

Stellar Lumens (XLM) is my favorite coin. I like to index about twenty at a time, but lumens are why I first got involved in crypto. I think it has the most potential to completely replace currency and it’s scalable. It has a strong foothold in SE Asia and consistently performs with respect to returns.

VI-D ([VIDT](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/v-id/)). Solid fundamentals, not on many exchanges, very low price ($0.12), low circulating supply (60M), good team, slow and steady growth.

Bitcoin Cash BCH is just rubbish, shitcoin, which was created by scammers, and all shitcoins sooner or later fail. You need to choose a coin / token depending on how the public accepts it. Look at the project that does not raise money from investors. Which represents the interests of the public and there is no paid advertising. A risk warning is written on their sites. It is accepted for free on well-known exchanges and wallets. Good luck, and remember, investments are risky, and investments in cryptocurrencies and blockchain are even more risky.

Just follow @oddgems tg.. smart guy and his picks are extremely well researched.

Enjin/Ultra (UOS) – should adopt fast w gamers

DAG – 2 blockchains have US government contracts. DAG/Constellation is the one worth noting.

NOIA – 8 companies worth about 300B are attempting segmented routing. NOIA is the only blockchain solution and its MC is 2M.
*not financial advice. Do your own research*

When I first read about Bitcoin I thought it was vastly improved from its current state.

There is one coin I’ve owned and used that does exactly how I imagined bitcoin to be: nano.

If you want to expand your knowledge of certain cryptos, you should read some reviews that include sources.
Try https://coinpaper.io sort after CP Score and pick the ones that were reviewed.
Coinpaper has some nice tools for analysis too.

Mainly BTC, but also I’ve some invested on privacy coins (Monero and DeepOnion) and some more invested in small “gems” like Nimiq.

BTC and ETH are solid picks.

XTZ, ENJ, NANO, BNB, GVT, BCH, LTC and many others can outperform those two in a bull market.

A rally is upon us. Neophytes will pile in. If you’re new around here, please take your time and be careful. There are thousands of coins, but most will probably go to zero. Some are outright scams. Others are scams that haven’t been outed yet. Yet others are great ideas, run by good people, that will go nowhere. In particular, take a few minutes to learn about the concept of *liquidity*, because when you come to sell, in some markets there might not be anyone on the other end of the trade. In other words, keep a good portion of… Read more »

Nano will be crypto cash.

IOTA will do internet of things for the whole world.

Eth for smart contracts.

Vechain for tracking goods globally.

Monero the king of fungibility.

I’m invested in bitcoin mostly, but hold some Nano. It drew me in a few years ago when the crypto bubble started forming. The bitcoin network got slow as fuck in the last bubble, so I looked around for fast crypto currencies. How can a crypto actually be a currency, if transactions take hours? I imagine someone standing at Starbucks holding the line up as the get transaction confirmations. So I looked up really fast transaction crypto and found Nano. It’s virtually instant, like Apple Pay or credit card instant. It has the added bonus of 0% fees. It’s a… Read more »

Iota has a lot of potential.

For me XMR and IOTA. Xmr for privacy which is completely undervalued right now. Having a completely private blockchain in a society where nothing is private will have lots of interest behind it. Who knows how it plays out long term, in regard to regulation but I’m sold.

Iota seems to be pulling off their mission. Long term hold as well, I think M2M transactions will become normalized in society within my lifetime.

I’m 85% Bitcoin.

10% Cardano – my gamble but I wouldn’t recommend. This is from a year or two ago.

5% ETH, ICON, NEO, ENG

What I’m not is BCH. How did they get you into that one? And get out.

IOTA, because the partners they are making are great and it just flat out works. I send IOTA and they get IOTA, no waiting. The official phone app is a nice addition too. I also have Nano, but can’t open my wallet without my broken phones 2 factor authentication approval, so that’s great. And the seed is locked away in a zip that must have gotten corrupted. IOTA’s in app encrypted seed backup was a life saver.

oh boy oh boy oh boy, I been waiting forever to shill my bags… SXDT ([Spectre.ai](https://Spectre.ai)) – better product for a $5 trillion/ day market. It’s been paying for the last year and are doing awesome things (like [betverse.io](https://betverse.io)) ERC20 CPAY ( [cpayfoundation.com/](https://cpayfoundation.com/), cryptopay.me) – crypto-powered debit cards, live in Russia. Did really well after ICO but then lost their card provider (when all crypto cards were shut down), they releasing for the UK/europe soon as well i believe, token holders get a portion of profits, been paying for over a year. Sia Coin. Sia offers right now, the most advanced decentralized storage services in blockchain. Data is the new gold, the next great movement in data is decentralization. It’s got to go some where.

I prefer investing in coins or tokens that back a service people want and will pay good money for.

1) ETH – because of DeFi and dApps – pretty much the future of crypto;

2) Anything on Ethereum that generates extra income while holding (ETH/sETH in Uniswap pools, DAI, LPT, LOOM…);

3) Anything else that generates extra passive income while holding and is basically zero/one click staking/baking etc. (XTZ, Atom, KMD, NEO, TRX…);

4) Cool projects that *could* score big one day (Nano, Lisk, Maker, Dash, BAT, Icon, ZRX);

5) “Lottery” Shitcoins (just in case);

6) Some tiny tiny amt of BTC;
